CSJ’s students Gabriel Lopes together with Marco Brás and Leonor Prata from 8th grade and Maria Costa from Clonlara Secondary were selected for phase 2 of the project 25<25 with the following proposals “Paths in Nature” and “Reeducating for surviving”. These project is the result of a partnership between Calouste Gulbenkian’s Foundation and ASHOKA whose aim is to stimulate the talent of the AGC’s students and find the 25 ones who are less than 25  and who will help to solve problems in a creative and innovative way leading the change into a more sustainable future.

“ORACY IGNITE” AT CSJ – WORKSHOPS ERASMUS+

According to CSJ’s Activity Plan, last April, a group of 15 students and 3 teachers would travel to London to take part in a program promoted by School 21. This initiative integrated the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership “Science, Soft Skills, Tutoring” which CSJ has with Turkey, Poland, Ireland and the UK and whose aim is the active sharing of each of the school’s different methodologies.

After visits to all the institutions, CSJ eagerly waited for this last one to London, during which School 21 would share their Oracy practices. That’s when COVID came up and the whole design of the plan had to be adapted!!!! Thus, around 150 students from the 5 schools attended 6 online sessions, followed by 6 follow-ups during which, step by step, they wrote their inspiring speeches.

In the end there was a common Youtube presentation of the best speeches of the students in each of the different countries.

For sure it was an unforgettable experience for all of the involved ones!

CSJ, through the teachers’ Association Educar para VOAR (Educating to FLY) is officially a Gulbenkian Knowledge Academy after presenting an application together with 300 other institutions.

The aim of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian is to support projects that provide a balance between technical and scientific skills and transversal, social and emotional ones.

Since 2012-2013, CSJ has been successfully developing the pedagogical model VOAR. Its conceptual pillars are based on Bonding, Entrepreneurship, Autonomy and Responsibility. The development of this pedagogical model originated the Teachers’ Association Educar para VOAR which presented it to the contest Academias Gulbenkian do Conhecimento. Thus, it is with immense pride that we make public that CSJ is officially an AGC (Gulbenkian Knowledge Academy).
